Winter vacation with a rental car

Picking up the rental car

Snow situations can ensure that you are sooner on the road with bad luck. For this reason, we provide a few extra points of attention when collecting the rental car.

• Ask or check where in the car a warning triangle or spare wheel is located.
• Before you drive away, make sure to check whether the car's lighting is working properly.
• Also check the profile of your tires and discuss with the staff at the counter what the minimum profile is for the destination. Also ask when the tire pressure was last checked.

Do not forget to bring a flashlight. In winter it may get dark faster outside. In these situations, a flashlight is very useful for mounting your snow chains, for example.

Good winter tires

We want you to get out on the road as safely as possible. Not only with the necessary insurance, but also with good winter tires. At locations where it is mandatory, winter tires are automatically included, which is nice and easy! But are you going to a place where this is not the case? Or are you not sure? Please ask our customer service team before departure. You can also choose to book winter tires yourself when making your reservation. You can always find this information in the rental conditions. This way you can be sure that you will not be faced with surprises.

Reserving extra accessories

A different desired rental car applies for each group, in size and budget, but also additional options. When making your reservation, look carefully at the extra options, such as snow chains and a ski box (if available). Are the children coming with you? A child seat or booster seat are not standard in the rental car and are often only available to a limited extent. Please indicate this when making the reservation.
